Fend off cute but deadly animals in this casual strategy title
Farmyard Survivors is a casual strategy game developed by Viron Games for PC and mobile. In this action-packed title, players must protect the farm from relentless throngs of cute but deadly attackers by recruiting adorable heroes with distinct and unique powers.
With its roguelike and tower defense mechanics, Farmyard Survivors offers a fast-paced playthrough that allows players to indulge in lane-based combat similar to Plants vs. Zombies and Broken Universe - Tower Defense. This 2D game features a selection of cute animals, including horses, dogs, cats, and more, with specific powers.
Protect the farmyard
The narrative of Farmyard Survivors follows a young cat named Kitty who encounters a rat one random day on the farm. As a precautionary measure to protect the farm, he throws a fish at the creature, and another, then another, until the rat is gone. However, Kitty soon realizes that the rat is not alone or an isolated case, as more creatures are approaching.
Take over the role of the adorable Kitty and continuously get stronger to fight against increasingly challenging hordes of enemy factions trying to get their hands on whatever is on the other end of the lane. Do not fret, though. You are not alone in this fight, as recruiting up to five other cute heroes to join you in your battle is possible.
Aside from unlocking new characters and improving Kitty’s stats, the game also has six permanent upgrades overall, like enhancing the five lanes’ defense, increasing its inhabitants’ health, attack speed, and damage, boosting skills unlockable per run, and more. Since the game features only a handful of unlockable characters, upgrades, and abilities, it falls short when it comes to sustaining long-term interest.
Engaging tower defense-like farm game
Overall, Farmyard Survivors offers an engaging and fun experience with its combination of tower defense and roguelike mechanics. The charming characters and fast-paced action keep things interesting for short playthroughs, but the limited content in terms of unlockables and upgrades may not provide enough depth for long-term play. Still, it’s a solid choice for players looking for a casual yet action-packed game.
